Reverse engineering · MCPLicense: MIT

REA — Reverse Engineer Anything

An open-source MCP server and CLI that lets an AI agent inspect how existing software actually behaves — from desktop and web apps down to compiled binaries — and report its findings with evidence.

Why it matters for Oracle work

Before modernizing a legacy app you need to know what it really does, not what the documentation says. Use it only on software you own or are authorised to analyse; the project itself is explicit that it is for lawful reverse engineering.

Agent skillsLicense: MIT

mattpocock/skills — /retro

A public collection of agent skills for everyday engineering. The /retro skill runs after a session and suggests improvements to the agent's working environment — checks, conventions, steering files and tooling — ordered by severity.

Why it matters for Oracle work

Agent setups decay quietly. A short retrospective after each piece of work is how deny rules, test commands and project notes keep up with what the agent keeps tripping over.

AI cost control

The "decision layer" cost pattern

Put a routing step in front of your models so each request goes to the cheapest one that can handle it well, and only the hard requests reach the expensive model. The safeguard is evaluation: you measure quality per task before moving traffic down a tier.

Why it matters for Oracle work

The same split works for agent teams: a large model plans and reviews, smaller ones do searches and mechanical edits. Read the original article for the full argument and the numbers.
